LC Challenges 2016

Hi ladies,

 

Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas? Ours was very quiet, lots of food, telly and games.  Have you ever played the chocolate biscuit game? You have to put a biscuit on your forehead and move it down your face into your mouth using only face muscles.  OMG such a hoot! We all had chocolate down our faces where it had melted and I was the loser, dropping mine on the carpet.  Give

it a go, its a real fun game!

 

Anyway, a while ago I asked everyone if they could let me have a challenge theme, one digi and one stamp for the 2016 challenges.  I have scrolled down some way and cannot find them, so for quickness, can I please ask, when you get a minute, just to leave me a one each for them both, thanks a lot!

LC Designs - New Facebook Group Page and Logo

Favourite Five Little Claire Cards of 2015

As it tends to get quieter in blog land towards the end of this month, I wondered how you would feel about doing a post featuring your five favourite LC cards of 2015?

It would simply be a blog post with photos of the five cards with links to the website and if you wanted to, you could say why the cards you've chosen are your favourites.

Design Team Member - Avril

Hi ladies,

 

Just to let you know that we have asked Avril to stand down from the digi-stamp team.

 

We feel that she has not been able to commit to the team consistently and on time.

I will be moving dates for blog projects around to accommodate this, so please keep an eye on the lists and let me know if it will be a problem.

 

Can we also ask, that from next week, all of the design team members, please advertise the challenges weekly on the blogs and Facebook.  Hopefully, it will bring in more entries for our challenges.

Entry numbers 5, 8

As far as I understand number 5 has used a clear stamp set. I told her in my comment that I love her entry but that she cannot be qualified. Hope this is OK?
Number 8 isn't a Christmas card and has no link to our challenge.

A Request for Future Blog Projects

Hello everyone

I've been chatting to Gill and Heidi about the Digi Design Team and how we can promote Little Claire digi stamps more.

Little Claire is of course well know for their stamps and I wonder how many of our customers are digi stamp users and know what a wide range of digi stamps Little Claire sells.  For example do customers understand what digi stamps are and how to use them?

It might sound really obvious to us and it probably is to lots of customers but I know from speaking to fellow stampers that some of them have never used digis and wouldn't know where to start.

So .... in future blog projects, could we please ask you to 'go back to basics' eg explaining how to print a digi stamp, what the advantages of them are, how to re-size them etc?

I appreciate that we can't keep doing this but perhaps each person for their next project could include one element of this so that we can try and get people interested.  Each blog project is sent out as an e-mail newsletter so if you could include your hints and tips at the start of the project, this will appear on the e-mails that people receive.

Christmas Challenge & DT comments

Hi digi-ladies,

 

Hope you are all keeping well and have had a good summer? If you have children, like myself, they are back to school this next week, so yippee!!! Looking forward to lots of ME/crafting time.

 

Our next challenge goes live this Wednesday, thank you to all that have already loaded your cards.  Please can I have the remainder by 18:00pm on Tuesday evening.  Please can you include the prize of five LC digi- images in your posts.  Also advertise on Facebook and Twitter should you have them too.

 

As you know, Lynsey has now become a stamping DT member, so I have changed the project dates and commenting numbers to exclude her.  Please can you check your numbers and dates and if there is a problem, please do let me know so I can move things around for you.

 

Can you all please let me have a couple of themes for our challenges in 2016.  Am looking for some really different ones, so please get your thinking caps on and let me know what you think.  We have tried sketches in the past, but these don't seem to get a lot of entries.

Today's Project.....

It's up now.

Sorry it's late, it was made ages ago but we're on holiday and I went to bed early last night as I'm suffering from a sinus infection and feeling a bit cheesed off that I'm ill on holiday and I completely forgot to schedule the post.

Anyhoo, it's up now and we are off to the beach.....hoping that the Welsh Wind will blow all the pesky little germs away :-)

July Challenge - Holiday Theme

Hello ladies,

 

Hoping you are all keeping well and cool in this heatwave? I don't do heat very well, so I tend to sit under the garden parasol instead of lying in the sunshine.

 

Our challenge time has come around again, so quickly! Questions about April challenge

On the main blog there is still the reference to the 3rd challenge. So if one clicks on the picture, you cannot see challenge #4.
Isn't any prize to be won this time? Perhaps I have missed it, but I cannot see it in the blogpost.

Challenges

Lovely floral cards teamies, just been reading the post and the rules and I am not sure it makes it clear that people must use a digi image to enter.

Also the pages at the top say how to enter our stamping challenge. I didn't think people had to stamp to enter the other challenge as sometimes the DT use the pre coloured toppers.

Just thought if I am reading it and not clear and I am on the DT then are entrants clear?

Blog Challenges

Ladies,

 

Further to the comments left on the blog week, I have spoken to Gill and we will be still running the two blog challenges but we have decided to move the dates of the digi-stamp ones.  We are going to start running them at the start of the month, commencing May 2015, so as to give you time to complete your cards.  I will also announce this when I do the blog challenge post, so regular entrants will know when to join in.  This will hopefully get more entrants.  This challenge is a new one and will take time to get regular followers.

 

We will also be doing blog challenge reminder post each week on the main blog, I will organise these and ask if you could also pop one on your blog, including in one of your blog posts, that would be great.

 

Please note the dates on the sidebars for future challenges and if there is a problem with doing a card for the said dates, please give me at least a week's notice, so that I can ask someone else to step in or swap.

 

Regarding commenting, we all have very busy lives and appreciate that you don't have lots of time to leave comments, this is very time consuming. All we ask is, if you could possibly do your allocated numbers and do some even or odd ones as well, if and when you have the time.  I appreciate this isn't always possible, but we do have a month to pop on over and get some done.

 

As always, thank you for all of your hard work, blog input and gorgeous cards.

Should the next challenge be Apr 8th rather than the 15th? It is normally the Wed before the stamping challenge which is Apr 11th. June's is shown as after the other challenge too. The date for the link ending doesn't tie in with the date given of 14th for the challenge ending either.

Couple of Questions

Hello Everyone

Hope you are all well? I've been on TLC duty over the last three weeks as both my children (2 and 5) have had Chicken Pox....at least they're getting it out the way while they're young :-)

When doing the commenting I noticed one had missed the use a digi bit! Just left a nice thanks for entering comment, hope that was ok?

Also is there anyway on this blog to set it so that it emails us when there is a new post? It gives me a nudge to look at the blog then ;-)

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of your wonderfully bright and beautiful cards, they are stunning and really showed the Little Claire digi-stamps off at their best.

Sending Avril get well soon wishes, she has a nasty virus and will be joining us for the next challenge and also will be doing her first blog project soon.

If you do ever wish to join in our usual stamp challenges, please just upload your cards into the pages on the blogs and I will include in the challenge posts.  Our January challenge goes live this Saturday, so maybe a little late for you this month.

By the way, when doing your own blog projects, please contact Gill/Carol with your choice of digi images.  They will then send it to you ready to complete your projects.  If you could add some photos, a product and instruction list for it too, that would be great.

Challenge Prize for January & Welcome Anne!

Gill has offered TEN digi-stamps of choice for the winner of our first digi-stamp challenge. That's a lot of digi's, hopefully we will get lots of wonderful entries.

I have been an avid crafter for as long as I can remember; ranging from knitting, bobbin and needle lace making, parchment craft and more recently sugar craft and cake decoration. Card making always ran alongside my other crafting projects. Over the last few years, and particularly since I retired from teaching, a year and a half ago, I have been indulging my passion for card designing and making, so my other crafty projects now have to fit in. My husband Ken and I love to travel, so am always on the look out for ideas to incorporate into my designs. On the home front, if Ken can’t find me indoors or gardening he knows where to look…..up in my ‘shed’ card making.

Pinterest Update

Hello again ladies

Thanks for your replies about Pinterest.  I've now added Lisa and Alli to the boards being followed by Little Claire.  Sarah - I couldn't find you on the list of followers.  Are you on there under your name or a different one?

I've now created boards for the digi downloads following the categories on the website - the idea is that it makes it easier to find the digi by going to the corresponding section on the website.

I've added everyone who I know is on Pinterest as a 'pinner' for each board.  You should get a notification on your own Pinterest page to say you've been invited to pin to each of the boards.  If you accept that invitation, you will then be able to add cards to the boards.  You will also find that the boards appear on your own page.

If you've used a digi which fits into one of the categories can you please add it to that board rather than the general board.  For example, I've uploaded a card I made with the 'Digi Golf Bag' so I've put this on the 'For the Men' board even though that digi also appears in the General section.  I've also uploaded a card using 'Lydia Goes Shopping' which I've put on the General board as that digi doesn't appear in another section on the website.

Hope that all makes sense but if it doesn't, please shout!!

Hi ladies,

Thank you for your gorgeous cards for the first challenge, they are just beautiful!  Gill is going to love them all and they will make a fantastic first challenge post.

If you haven't already loaded your cards onto the challenge pages at the top of the blogs. (Marianne has done a fabby job uploading them), can you please do so as soon as possible.  I need them to be on there at the latest by Tuesday, 13th, for me to upload onto the main posts. If you have any problems loading, please let me know.

I am waiting on Gill to advise how many digi-stamps she will be giving away as a prize.  If you could all add this to your posts for Wednesday, along with links to both the blog and website. If possible direct links to the digi-stamps and any products you have used.

Regarding admin on the Little Claire blogs.  Thank you to everyone that has helped the new ladies with blog queries etc, but can all settings be dealt with by myself, as requested by Gill.  This saves things from being changed or deleted by accident.

Blog Project

I am a bit unsure as to the subject for the blog project I need to make for 22nd Jan. I know January is "open project" month and we`ve all done projects of our choice for the 15th Jan so am I right in thinking that I can chose my own project and stamp for the next project on the 22nd Jan?
.
I know this may be so obvious to everyone else but I am first on the list for making projects after the big one on the 15th Jan and I need to get started as soon as I can. Also do I get in touch with Gill and ask her for the stamp I would like, or will she chose a stamp and send it on?

Help Please

Hi All,

Trying to load up my card for the Challenge but I cannot see the pages, I'm only able to view the posts. Earlier some people hadn't been given full admin rights, is that the same case with me?

Also a quick question? With the other challenges / Projects are we given specific digi-stamps or will we get to choose? How soon will we recieve these? as I would like to work in advance, when I get a spare moment when my baby is sleeping I will be able to get on so I keep up to date :)

Challenges

I suggested to Heidi that it would be easier if we had the challenges as pages rather than as posts. That way those of us who like to get ahead can post our cards on the appropriate challenge and also the posts don't get lost amongst everything else. As Heidi is without a PC at the moment I volunteered to do it for her.

 I have cut and pasted the cards which have been uploaded so far onto the January page. You will see that there is a page for each challenge at the top.

I look after the Little Claire Pinterest page and I'm wondering how many of you use Pinterest?  I've found Lynsey's page and hopefully you should find that you're now being followed by Little Claire (that sounds a bit odd but you know what I mean!!).

We appreciate that keeping to deadlines with Little Claire challenges, commenting on entries and blog projects etc. can take up a lot of your spare time, so we initially thought we would keep the workload down for everyone, by having them separate and spreading the load of the posts on the main blog.

We have now decided, to stop any confusion and let all design team members, new and old to have access to all of the three blogs.  I will still be creating and maintaining the main blog posts for each.  If you wish to participate in the new challenges, can you please upload your cards and stamp details, direct to the main challenge post, two days before the challenge goes live. This will enable me to finish the challenge posts, ready to go live.

For the new challenges, you can use any stamps or digi's that you already have.  As it is a digi-stamp challenge, digi-stamps would be preferable.

The new digi-stamp challenges will be monthly on a Wednesday, this along with the Little Claire Likes projects, existing challenges and blog projects, will keep the blog active at different times of the week. The first digi-stamp challenge has an 'Open Theme' and is going live on Wednesday, 14th January.  Gill will be giving away as the prize, a number of digi images (number to be decided by Gill).

The digi-stamp ladies will be posting their blog projects on Thursdays, starting on 15th January, the original team are to post theirs on Fridays as before.
